Assistant Principal Tina Floyd
Hello, my name is Tina Floyd, and this is my first year in the Mustang School district. I have been welcomed with smiles from everyone, and I truly enjoy being here at Mustang Elementary. I have been in education for the past twelve years, with eight of those being a classroom teacher. This is my first administrative position, and I feel that I could not have asked for a better school, staff, and principal to work with. Outside of school, I have a son who is 12, a daughter who is 9, twin 10 year old step-daughters, and a wonderful husband. I love sports of all kinds, and spending time with my family. Someday soon, I plan to return to school to pursue my PhD in education.
Principal Laquita Semmler
Welcome to Mustang Elementary.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I grew up in Oklahoma City and
attended Putnam City Public Schools. I received my Bachelor of Education
degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1991. At that time I began
my career at Mustang Elementary as a fifth grade teacher. I taught fifth
grade for 4 years then moved to first grade for the remainder 8 years.
During my time in first grade, I received my Early Childhood certification
and began working on my master’s degree. I received my Master of Education
degree to become an Elementary Principal from Southwestern State University
in 1999. Before coming to Mustang Elementary as principal in 2007, I was
assistant principal at Mustang Creek Elementary for 3 years.
I have been married to an incredible man for 29 years. We
moved to the Mustang area in 1981 due to the superior reputation of Mustang
Public Schools. Our family consists of three daughters, two sons-in-law, one
dog, and five granddogs. We are expecting our first grandbaby in October.
Although our children are grown and have made lives of their own, we still
spend almost every weekend together.
Mustang Elementary is a very caring and supportive place. The
faculty and staff believe in the students and look for ways to help them
reach their potential. We address the whole child and are dedicated to
students achieving in all areas of their lives. We encourage parental
involvement and invite you to visit. We are looking forward to an awesome
year where we are “Wild About Success”.
